The diluent of BS 4004 can be used as a high quality universal water repellent for hydrophobic impregnation of mineral surfaces and for substrate mineral surfaces. The mineral substrate treated with SILRES® BS 4004 has the following characteristics and the mineral substrate treated with BS 4004 in particular has the following characteristics of excellent pearlescent effect. In addition, SILRES BS 4004 can be used for large-scale hydrophobic treatment of non-load-bearing concrete products.

SILRES?  BS 4004 emulsion contains a stable silane and siloxane mixture that is prone to hydrolysis. Hydrolysis occurs only after it is applied to the substrate, thus destroying the emulsion. The alcohol is released and the emulsion is converted into a silicone water repellent.

SILRES® BS 4004 reduces capillary absorption in the building it permeates, but does not clog the pores. As a result, there is little damage to the breathing capacity of building materials.
