In new concrete, SILRES® BS 1802 reacts with water in the mixture. The active substance thus formed greatly reduces the absorbency of the concrete after hardening.

One of the main degradation mechanisms of concrete, the so-called ASR (alkali-silicon reaction), can be effectively inhibited by using SILRES® BS 1802 as a whole treatment. ASR can be effectively suppressed by using SILRES® BS 1802 for holistic treatment. The integral treatment of BS 1802 can effectively inhibit ASR, thus greatly extending the service life of building materials.
