BASF's new EC-Lock technology reduces water penetration by locking in low molecular weight soluble hydrophilic substances and preventing them from leaching out onto the surface of the paint film, thereby reducing the tendency for bright spots (snail marks) to occur early in the film and avoiding contamination rain marks on hydrophobic coated surfaces.
